Petition to remove John Weaver as Animal Control Officer for Aberdeen, SD

It is with a heavy hand that I write this post, but it is my duty to the people of Aberdeen, SD and to the dog owners in this fair city.

A fellow pit bull owner, Nick Sachs, called me today and relayed some troubling news about Officer John Weaver, Aberdeen Animal Control.  Reportedly, Mr. Sachs was invited to do an interview with Officer Weaver.  I can only assume that this was to help bolster Officer Weaver’s understanding of pit bulls as the interview was coordinated by a member of the Aberdeen Police Department.

Mr. Sachs explained that in the interview Officer Weaver began stating data that Mr. Sachs knew to be untrue and the more Mr. Sachs would refute the errors the more frustrated and unstable Officer Weaver became.  The brief interview was abruptly terminated by Officer Weaver when he demanded that Mr. Sachs leave the room.

Mr. Sachs is upset because he went there hoping to provide some much needed information to Officer Weaver and to help guide this issue in a direction that wold benefit all dog owner sin Aberdeen.  As a result of his treatment by Officer Weaver and after observing Officer Weaver’s near hysterical condition Mr. Sachs has asked me to develop a petition calling for the removal of John Weaver as the Animal Control Officer for Aberdeen, SD.
